... of January's Mindful Writing Challenge.
Yesterday, I stood in the light... today we're asked 'to drink the stupefying cup of darkness and wake up to ourselves, nourished and surprised', Edward Hirsch.
Dazed by lack of sleep,
Windows rattle,
Gates clang,
Trees bend.
I reach for my Mary stone.
I finger its edges,
I trace her contours,
I pray for grace
~ and peace.
Hi Claire,
ReplyDeleteI had not heard of this monthly challenge yet. I wish you a great year ahead and a lot of courage on your journey. Thanks for your comment. Hugs from Bordeaux, xoxo
Thanks, Sabrina! Blessings to you x
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of a Mary stone before. How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi, Rachel, that's what I call her anyway :)
DeleteShe's a pocket madonna (a ceramic worry stone) I bought several year ago from here:

Thank you for the link. I have a brownish-purpleish worry stone that has seen me through some tough times.
