Summer in England continues to be sunny and dry (great for the ripening crops!), and thankfully the temperatures have dropped a tad, and occasionally there have been actual breezes (gosh!)
So I did as Sally suggested - I got outside in the fresh air on my scooter...
... can't wait for these blackberries to ripen - hubby makes delicious jam :-)
PS Autumn must be just around the corner - this started on TV this week - hooray!!
They show the great british bake off here too only like about a year later! so no spoilers please! Youre so lucky to see all those great autumn shows coming up now I think sept is the best time on british tv and as it heads towards christmas time. enjoy the bake off, those cakes make me wish my new kitchen was ready now so that I could bake something!
ReplyDeleteI promise, no spoilers!! You are so right - the Autumn is THE time for great TV :) Hope the kitchen is progressing and soon you can back a show-stopper to celebrate!!

Hi Claire, enjoy that show for me! I will try and "guess" whats happening on it from what people write about it on their blogs! I just hope we get this series eventually!
Deleteas for my kitchen, well progress is slow but steady! Should be ready in a month or so as dh is doing most of the work himself.
Good luck with that... my hubby 'did' the kitchen in our 1st home - 10 years later when we sold it, there were still no skirting boards, no beading on the counter-tops, tiles, etc... :)
DeleteI love blackberries too, but ours are frustratingly small this year! good luck with your harvest!
ReplyDeleteThey look yummy.. I wish I still had a raspberry patch... miss picking fresh raspberries, we've never grown blackberries...
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, lovely berries! I can almost taste the jam now. Your photo is sweet.
ReplyDeleteYour blackberries are so pretty. It's tough waiting for them to ripen - don't you just want to pull them off and eat them?!! I have no patience - they would never make it to 'jam' status!! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI love anything with blackberries, but I like them best super ripe and to just pop them in my mouth!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky that your hubby is a jam-man! I have never heard of that show but it sounds like it is known by some of the others. It looks good. My favorite UK import is Downton Abbey. (Other than baby George.)
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I love blackberries...It is great that your hubby can make jam! Great shot!
